Encode x Aurora Hackathon is a collaboration between Encode Club and Aurora, aimed at accelerating innovation in the blockchain and decentralized application space. This highly anticipated hack will bring together developers, designers, and entrepreneurs from around the world to build groundbreaking projects using Aurora’s technology. The hackathon will run for four weeks, kicking off on May 30th and culminating in the grand finale on July 12th.
By combining the power of Ethereum with the speed and scalability of NEAR Protocol, Aurora offers developers an unparalleled experience. Participants in the Encode x Aurora Hackathon will have the unique opportunity to work with this innovative technology, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in blockchain development.

Here, we have compiled a collection of resources we think you will find very useful.
Hackathon Silo
Specially for the Encode x Aurora Hackathon Aurora Labs team has created a dedicated blockchain using Aurora Silo technology. It should be used as a gas-free playground for all of the hackathon participants. Everything in a Silo works in a same way as on the mainnet
or testnet
, but with the exception that transactions are totally free for you! The Silo will be shutdown after the hackathon ends, that is why we have decided not to use Rainbow Bridge on it (not to burn the real currencies afterwards). So, in the case you will need bridging – feel free to use mainnet
and Aurora+ to get your 50 free transactions.
Here are the data to connect to the Hackathon Silo using your IDE or wallet (e.g., Metamask):
ChainID: 1313161558
RPC URL: http://hackathon.aurora.dev
Currency Symbol: ETH
Explorer URL: https://explorer.hackathon.aurora.dev/

Intro to Aurora
Use the ‘Get Started’ page to add
mainnet

networks or Aurora token to Metamask.Main site Testnet Faucet. You can also bridge ETH from Goerli using Rainbow Bridge.
To get 50 free transactions on the mainnet use Aurora+
